Engineering Project Manager - Energy from Waste - Glasgow - 18-Month Contract 


Our client, an international leader in the traditional and renewable power plant industry, is recruiting for a Engineering Project Manager to join their Glasgow based project. With over forty years of experience realising energy solutions and minimising environmental impact, our client is stepping up their global footprint meaning that now is an exciting time to join.


Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently managing a team of professional engineers and overseeing their assigned projects by organising workflow and specific tasks ensuring optimal resource and workload allocation.
  • Prepare optimised engineering manpower allocation plan and budget for the various project(s)
  • Identifying resource gaps and suggesting ways to bridge the gaps including appointing external consultants.
  • Directing the Engineering team to deliver technical and financial performance objectives.
  • Devising effective quantitative tools to measure the productivity of the engineering personnel and consultants.
  • Suggesting improvement in tools and processes to deliver drawings and documents within optimal time.

Requirements:

  • Finalising plant basic and detailed design.
  • Preparing Design Basis Reports and reviewing need validation of all packages and services contracts to ensure optimal design and redundancy.
  • Suggest strategies for technical solutions at most optimised cost.
  • Developing and approving functional specifications and suppliers’ documents for awarding equipment and services contracts for the project(s).
  • Check effectiveness of design against EPC and vendor contract requirements within project budget
  • Continuously look for global cost optimisation during all design phases specially during basic design.
  • Ensuring compliance of Technical Specifications under EPC Contracts and subcontracts issued to suppliers, service providers and engineering consultants within the specified timelines.
  • Identify scope and design changes and prepare related claims and Variation Order (VO) under EPC Contract.
  • Ensure conformance of material with specification and documentation.
  • Preparing and updating Project Engineering Plan for internal and external use.
