Design Verification Lead - Pharmaceuticals - 12-Month Contract 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Verification Lead to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.


Primary deliverables of this project:
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all design phases, including conceptual and basic design reviews.
  • Develop and manage project design requirements and schedules, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Interface with and oversee Architectural/Engineering partners, expediting decisions and ensuring effective information flow.
  • Ensure designs meet project intent through collaboration with design firms, specialists, and system owners.
  • Develop and oversee the Project Verification Plan, Traceability Matrix, and risk assessments.
  • Manage and track discrepancies during the verification phase, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of engineers, including early-career and senior staff, to contribute effectively to large capital projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement of work instructions, best practices, and key indicators of functional performance.

Must Have Experience:
  • B.S. in Engineering or a related technical field with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering, supporting API, parenteral, or device assembly & packaging networks.
  • Demonstrated experience in capital project delivery ($250m+), including design oversight and verification.
  • Strong understanding of GMP standards and their application to capital projects.

Nice to have experience:
  • Ability to balance technical detail with an understanding of broader business objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience resolving personnel matters with tact and integrity.
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and execute plans in environments with limited or conflicting direction.
  • Familiarity with Engineering Design Standards and integration of Quality and HSE requirements into project workflows.
