Cost Control Manager - US, Ohio - 12 Month Contract 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Cost Control Manager to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and manage the project control budget and cost control framework.
  • Oversee cost reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis in alignment with client expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and EPCM partners to ensure consistent and transparent cost governance.
  • Monitor commitments, actuals, and cash flow across all workstreams, including engineering, construction, and CQV.
  • Lead the change management process—tracking change orders, analyzing cost impact, and supporting value engineering efforts.
  • Validate purchase requisitions, contract values, and invoices to ensure alignment with budget and project controls.
  • Maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and ensure integration with financial systems such as SAP.
  • Prepare and present monthly cost reports and dashboards to senior stakeholders.
  • Participate in final cost reconciliation and project closeout to support asset capitalization.
Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in cost control on large-scale CAPEX projects ($300M+), preferably within pharmaceutical or specialty chemical environments.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, vendor invoicing, and project financial workflows.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Excel, SAP, and cost control/reporting software (e.g., EcoSys, Prism, or similar).
  • Experience supporting both Owner-side and EPCM projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
