Automation Project Engineer - Ireland, Sligo - 12 Month Contract

Located on the picturesque west coast of Ireland, our Global pharmaceutical client is looking for an Automation Project Engineer to join their state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility. They have invested $55 billion in research to discover and develop new medicines in the pursuit of scientific breakthroughs and changing people’s lives. Essential duties and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • To provide technical support and project management to all manufacturing operations and NPI’s throughout the site.
  • To provide technical leadership of all control system activities in the medical device manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to take active lead on control system qualification activities during project start-up.
  • Project management of control system elements of new and continuous improvement projects. 
  • Project management and technical development of future integrations of the control systems, with planned MES/ERP/Data Historian (OSI PI) systems.
  • Provide technical support to all control system related issues.
Desirable Experience:
  • NFQ Level 8 Honors Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Extensive experience in an automation engineering role, with software development of PLC /HMI / SCADA platforms in a GMP pharmaceutical industry environment.
  • Extensive experience of the 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for automated systems in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience of plant start-ups and/or new product introductions to medical device facilities. Must be able to lead these activities in a start-up environment.
  • Experience in qualification of control systems is essential.
  • Experience in auditing and internal inspection would be advantageous.
