Assistant Construction Manager - US, Illinois - 12 Month Contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Assistant Construction Manager  to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Illinois, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.

What you'll do:
  • Support the Construction Manager in day-to-day field oversight and coordination of all construction activities within the Small Molecule 2 building.
  • Lead and monitor cleanroom construction (wall panels, ceiling systems, flooring, and finishes) ensuring installation meets GMP and ISO standards.
  • Coordinate across CSA, MEP, and Process disciplines to maintain construction flow and prevent schedule conflicts or rework.
  • Participate in daily and weekly construction coordination meetings with EPCM and contractor teams.
  • Track progress against milestones and provide regular updates on schedule, safety, and quality performance.
What you'll need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred; equivalent field experience accepted.
  • Requires experience in large-scale CAPEX projects, ideally within pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or other regulated cleanroom facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cleanroom fit-out including wall panels, ceilings, HVAC integration, and finishes.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and field coordination.
