Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy

We are committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce, and eliminating unlawful discrimination.
The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society, and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.

Our commitment is to:

  • Ensure our policies and procedures do not treat people less favourably because of their race, nationality, gender or gender identity, religion, disability status, sexual orientation, age, marriage or civil partnership status, caring or dependant responsibilities or background.
  • Treat all employees, whether part-time, full-time or temporary, with fairness and respect.
  • Encourage equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace to enable us to benefit from the different perspectives, skills and experiences that our employees bring.
  • Create a working environment free of bullying, harassment, victimisation and unlawful discrimination, promoting dignity and respect for all, and where individual differences and the contributions of all staff are recognised and valued.
  • Take seriously complaints of bullying, harassment, victimisation and unlawful discrimination by fellow employees, customers, suppliers, visitors, the public and any others in the course of our work activities.
  • To make training, development and progression opportunities available to all employees.
  • To make decisions on selection for employment, promotion, training or any other benefit on the basis of aptitude and ability.
  • To regularly review this policy to ensure fairness, monitor effectiveness and make sure it is updated in line with legislation changes.

This policy applies to anyone working for us. This includes employees, workers, contractors, volunteers, interns and apprentices. The policy also relates to job applicants, and is relevant to all stages of the employment relationship.

This policy explains the behaviours we expect of our employees in support of this commitment, and the steps we take as a business to make our culture as inclusive as possible.

We expect you to treat your colleagues and third parties (including customers, suppliers, contractors, agency staff and consultants) fairly and with dignity, trust and respect, allowing others to contribute and offer differing viewpoints where necessary. We encourage all employees to take an active role against any form of harassment or discriminatory behaviour.

This policy does not form part of your contract of employment, and we reserve the right to amend or withdraw it at any time.

Any breaches of this policy will be considered wholly unacceptable behaviour, and subject to a thorough investigation, could lead to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal, including summary dismissal.
