We are currently working with a leading data centre owner operator that are undertaking a multitude of projects globally. They are currently expanding their automation teams and are currently looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join their team.
Essential Job Functions & Duties
- Assist in establishing milestones for completion of various systems (MEP, IT, Construction) to allow sufficient time for pre-testing and testing for development and remediation projects.
- Oversight on schedules and commissioning scripts for each general contractor, and OFCI supplier leading up to a coordinated program for testing of main OFCI equipment (L1 to L5).
- Assist in the definition of demarcation scopes between OFCI suppliers, GCs and Commissioning agents.
- Identify long lead items, and see to their inclusion in the Master Project Schedule in coordination with Project Controls, Construction and Operations including all updates.
- Assist in establishing job schedules (on-boarding & close-out ) and implement specific procedures for close-out including submittals of as-builts, O&M manuals and Ops team’s training for Automation related scope.
- Assist in organising shop drawings and submittals schedules for BMS related items.
- Review for proper scope coordination among all trades (Engineering, IT, etc.) and ensure that appropriate submittals are exchanged among trades where necessary.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with all design teams, construction, integrators, operations and commissioning agents.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
- Coordinate integration support schedules, allowing for sufficient time to program, test, and commission mission-critical control systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Industrial automation system commissioning experience is required.
- Data Centre experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of OSHA laws.
- Programme Management experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of automation systems (control loops, field IO, etc.) in a mission-critical environment.
- Experience with industry-leading software platforms for SCADA systems is preferred, but not required.
