Our client, a global biotechnology organisation, is recruiting for a Project Buyer to join their capital project in the South of France. This new build facility will house a therapeutic protein production plant, and we are looking for a Project Buyer to help expand our client's biotech operations throughout Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Build and propose a purchasing strategy for maintenance and scientific equipment but moreover in alignment with the footprint of existing or proposed for the Toulouse site.
- Understand and where applicable challenge the choice of scientific equipment and in turn the choice of supplier with internal users/stakeholders
- Understand well the KPI of Maintenance, local and the global group, and initiate new or update as needed and in alignment with SCM and Engineering.
- Interim contact with suppliers, request quotations (RFQ) as necessary and negotiate contract agreements if needed. Maintain and update list of prices.
- Negotiate and follow up of laboratory equipment maintenance contracts, place orders for repairs, follow up of invoices with facility management team.
- Provide ongoing optimal services and support operations during budget process
- Support and develop the purchasing process of maintenance with the help of the manager and the international purchasing team
- Provide backup to operative purchasing team when needed
- Support project management on lean and efficiency projects
- Monitor supplier’s reliability and assessment.
- Clarify claims with suppliers.
Your ideal qualification:
- Engineer with at least 2/3 years of experiences in a purchasing department negotiating maintenance contracts for an industrial or pharmaceutical company,
- Able to work autonomously, but also as an active team member
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to establish good relationships and work effectively with internal users and suppliers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in French and English.
- Proficiency in common office software like Microsoft Word, Excel, experience using ERP systems
- Proactive, organised, flexible
