Construction Safety Lead– Ohio – Contract

Our client, a global pharmaceutical manufacturing organization are looking for a talented Construction Safety Lead to join their expanding team. With continued organizational growth and considerable investment across their portfolio and capital programs this is an extremely exciting opportunity to contribute towards their brand-new manufacturing facility on the East Coast of the United States.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Proactively engage in safety reviews and challenge designs from a safety perspective during the Basic Design phase. Ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Play a key role in the budget sign-off process, anticipated by late June/early July, ensuring adequate funding for safety initiatives and protocols.
  • Conduct independent reviews of designs, documentation, and safety standards, collaborating effectively with external partners. Enhance safety strategies and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • This role demands on-site presence to oversee safety throughout different project phases.
  • Preferred experience in Fill Finish processes within pharmaceutical or biotech environments. Familiarity with brownfield project requirements and regulatory standards is advantageous.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are desirable.
  • Experience in construction safety leadership roles within pharmaceutical or biotech industries, with specific experience in brownfield projects.
  • Proven track record of leading EHS/Safety processes through design phases of large-scale projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, FDA, etc.) applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
